Thiessen, an experienced hiker, photographer and software professional, has recently released Canadian Monsters, a children’s book that explores legendary creatures from across the country. The project was sparked when Thiessen found himself needing a new goal.

With encouragement from his oldest daughter, Thiessen turned his attention to writing.
