The Seven Summits are the highest mountains on each of the seven continents. Climbing to the top of each of them is considered one of the greatest mountaineering feats that exist.
Not everyone is ready to galavant across the globe to summit seven formidable peaks, so I decided to find a challenge closer to home. Therefore I present to you the Canadian version of the Seven Summits challenge: Thirteen Canadian Summits. These points range anywhere from a 6,000-meter summit in the Yukon to small hills in the Canadian Prairies.
As of today, (September 22, 2023), I have completed two of the thirteen.
Alberta: Mount Columbia
- Height: 3,747m (12,2931ft)
- Range: Rocky Mountains
British Columbia: Mount Fairweather
- Height: 4,663m (15,299ft)
- Range: St. Elias Mountains
Manitoba: Baldy Mountain
- Height: 832m (2,730ft)
- Range: Duck Mountains

Duck Mountain has the largest hills in Manitoba. It is here where you can find the highest point in Manitoba, Baldy Mountain. Baldy Mountain is 832 meters above sea level.
New Brunswick: Mount Carleton
- Height: 817m (2,680ft)
- Range: Appalachian Mountains
Newfoundland and Labrador: Mount Caubvick
- Height: 1,652m (5,420ft)
- Range: Torngat Mountains
Northwest Territories: Mount Nirvana
- Height: 2,773m (9,098ft)
- Range: Backbone Ranges
Nova Scotia: White Hill
- Height: 535m (1,755ft)
- Range: Cape Breton Highlands
Nunavut: Barbeau Peak
- Height: 2,616m (8,583ft)
- Range: British Empire Range
Ontario: Ishpatina Ridge
- Height: 693m (2,274ft)
- Range: Temagami
Prince Edward Island: Unnamed Point
- Height: 142m (466ft)
- Range: Queens County
Quebec: Mont D’lberville
- Height: 1,651m (5,417ft)
- Range: Torngat Mountains
Saskatchewan: A Farmer’s Field
- Height: 1,392m (4,567ft)
- Range: Cypress Hills

The highest point in Saskatchewan isn’t a point at all. It’s a flat piece of land in the middle of a farmer’s field! It’s a very fitting landmark for this province, especially since Saskatchewan license plates used to have the slogan “The Wheat Province”.
Yukon: Mount Logan
- Height: 5,956m (19,541ft)
- Range: St. Elias Mountains
